The plot revolving around three blood brothers who become deadly enemies has been adapted several times. Already back in 1971 Pao Hsueh Li made the Shaw movie OATH OF DEATH, in 2007 multi-awarded THE WARLORDS starring Jet Li (Best Actor Hong Kong Film Awards, Best Actor Shanghai Film Critics Award), Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro as well as Alexi Tans, John Woo-produced THE BLOOD BROTHERS were released.
According to Sina, Ti Lung and multi-talented veteran Frankie Chan Fan Kai who also composed the music for 1973’s BLOOD BROTHERS have been signed on for the upcoming remake. Further or more specific casting details are not yet available, so please speculate at will. Considering his award-winning predecessors, the new Ma surely inherits a difficult task.
