Hui Ying Hung Wins Golden Horse Award!

The 46th Golden Horse Awards were celebrated on November 28, 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan. The event considered as „Chinese-language Oscars“ was broadcast by Chinese-language TV-stations as far away as Canada.

Shaw Veteran Hui Ying Hung (Kara Hui) won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in Ho Yu Hang’s independent drama AT THE END OF DAYBREAK. Congratulations! She already won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Female Actress for MY YOUNG AUNTIE back in 1982, thus this year’s Golden Horse Award represents a great confirmation and appreciation of her career and performing talent.

Martial Arts Veterans Sammo Hung and Tony Leung Siu Hung won the Best Action Choreography Award for IP MAN. The evening’s biggest surprise was Leon Dai’s Independent movie NO PUEDO VIVIR SIN TI which won the Best Picture and Best Director Awards to name just a few.
