Wild Side Films presents Shaw Brothers movies online!

The French distribution company Wild Side Films, who released already some 46 Shaw titles have cancelled their plans to bring further DVD releases and will present 180 Shaw titles as Video-On-Demand. A special platform will give customers the chance to pay and download even movies which have not been released in Hong Kong.

The first content on the new platform FILMOLINE will feature 60 Shaw titles. Prices range from 3,99 Euro for a pay-per-view session to 7,99 Euro for a download that enables the customer to store and burn the films without limitations. It is interesting to know, that the catalogue will contain movies of all genres and not only swordplay or kung fu fare. A first batch will feature titles like THE SEXY KILLER, THE BAMBOO HOUSE OF DOLLS as well as i.e. Huangmei Diao-movies like THE LOVE ETERNE and THREE SMILES and extend towards soft sex movies and horror movies of which some have not been released even in Hong Kong.

But fans of the martial arts genre should not fret as all titles of the famous directors Chang Cheh, Chu Yuan, Cheng Kang and Liu Chia Liang and which have not been released previously on DVD in France will finally see the light of the day. That means that there is hope for titles such as THE KILLER, THE VILLAINS, TEMPERAMENT OF LIFE or BLACK MAGIC and BATTLE FOR THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA – if only online, but that is something to cheer about nevertheless!
